Trampolines and Tropical Cyclones

Hold on to your trampolines ladies and gentlemen, a tropical cyclone is about to hit North Queensland!

Graded a category five system already, Tropical Cyclone Yasi is hurtling toward the North Queensland Coast, with 295km winds at it’s core.

So, what does this mean for trampoline owners at the top of our beloved Sunshine State?

It means that you should batton down your trampolines ladies and gentleman, because you’re in for a bumpy ride!

Don’t let your trampoline become a missile if Cyclone Yasi hits. Anchor your trampoline to the ground using Vuly’s anchor kit.

Vuly’s trampoline anchor kit is designed to secure your Vuly trampoline into the ground should any extreme weather conditions occur. Our anchor kit is unique in it’s locking system which attaches to the frame of our trampolines and then into the ground using sturdy, galvanised steel pegs.

For instructions on how to use your Vuly Anchor Kit, please click How To Install Your Vuly Anchor Kit.

Vuly wishes all NQ’ers a safe few days, and hopes that Cyclone Yasi passes without causing too much destruction and devastation to those NQ residents already affected by floods or Cyclone Larry. Stay safe everyone!

I’ve seen a few crazy trampoline stunts, but this one takes the cake. This video is just as the blog title says – a boy on a trampoline dunking himself through a basketball hoop. Haha. But really, OUCH!

Trampolines can be very powerful and all jumpers should have a good understanding of applicable safety precautions before attempting any tricks on their trampoline. Otherwise, you might end up through the hoop!

Jonas Brothers in Concert.. on a Trampoline?

This post goes out to my little sister, Gabby (who’s favourite band features in this blog!) and to all children everywhere wondering – how can we combine the awesomeness of live music performances with TRAMPOLINES!?

Trampolines are everywhere so it seems.. even on stage with popular teen singing stars, the Jonas Brothers!

At their most recent World Tour, the brothers included a trampoline in their live stage performance for a little bit of bouncing fun in between sets. Bouncing off the their trampoline mat and trampoline safety pads, the Brothers drove the crowd wild with their charming playfulness. See, even the Jonas Brothers use trampoline safety pads!

And though I probably wouldn’t advocate doing those type of flips on the trampoline, one thing is certain from this video – trampolines make great stage props, good enough even for the Jonas Brothers!

3 Ways to Make your Trampoline Pads Last Longer

Depending on sun exposure and usage, your Vuly trampoline pads may need to be replaced after a extended number of years of use. And whilst Vuly trampoline replacement parts are easily accessible and very affordable, you may never need to replace this component of your trampoline if you take good care of your it. Vuly advises that trampoline owners look after their trampoline by following standard safety guidelines and supervising their children when using a trampoline.

  1. Jumping is strictly on the black jumping mat and not on the trampoline pads or trampoline safety net. Your trampoline pads serve an important purpose to prevent your children’s arms and legs being caught between the springs. Even though Vuly trampoline pads are on the outside of the safety net, that still means your children should not use the pads as an outdoor deckchair.
  1. Put your trampoline in a well shaded area. If you don’t have a shady area, consider purchasing a Vuly trampoline tent. This way, your children won’t be constantly exposed to harmful UV rays when jumping on their trampoline. Since Vuly trampoline tents are UV-reistsant, they will also reduce the likelihood of deterioration of other trampoline parts too.
  1. Mop up any rainwater that may pool on your trampoline pads. Pooled rainwater can saturate your Vuly trampoline pads and block the UV-resistant materials which protects your trampoline pads from deterioration.

Until Friday 21 January, Vuly is offering free trampoline tents with every Vuly trampolines for sale. Click here to order your Vuly trampoline today and see our wonderful trampoline tents in action!

Vuly Trampolines on show in the Tramp World Champs

In November, Australian trampoline stars headed to Metz, France to show the French a few Aussie trampoline skills in the World Trampoline Championships.

And representing Australia we’d like to introduce … *drum roll please* …

Blake Gaudry, Ben Wilden, Bethany Bailey and Aslin Styles on the trampoline team, and Jack Penny, Jarrod Spear and Christie Jenkins on the DMT team!

The team in their Vuly Trampolines gear

The team performed admirably in the Championships, achieving fabulous rankings on the world stage between them.

Ty achieved a score of 27.100 in his first routine, and 36.500 in the second routine, placing 43rd. Australia’s Blake Gaudry finished in 18th, with Ben Wilden in 23rd.

Bethany equaled Ty’s 43rd placing and Aslin Style finished in 38th.

In the highly exciting syncro event, Bethany Bailey teamed up with Aslin Styles to achieve an impressive score of 78.6 for both routines for 16th place.

Vuly flying high at the Tramp World Champs!

Congratulations to the Australian team for once again representing Australia, and Vuly, in such great fashion. You are a credit to your country and our company!

Trampoline Tent Fever!

Add another dimension to the hours of your family’s bouncing fun with Vuly’s Trampoline Tent!

To assembly your Vuly Trampoline Tent, you’ll need to stand inside on the trampoline and line up the inside squares of the tent with the top of the net poles. Then, jump onto the safety padding and pull the tent down over the net poles.

Trampoline tents serve two main purposes:

  • They are UV resistant, so eliminate all risk of sun exposure to your trampoline and to the jumpers inside
  • They are a fantastic cubby house for your family, or an outdoor camping tent

Does your child want to have a sleepover? No problem. Why not use your Vuly Trampoline Tent as an outdoor tent for your children and their friends? It’ll make them feel like they are on a holiday, but give you the peace of mind that they are within the safe confines of the Trampoline Tent only metres away! Vuly Trampoline Tents come in classic blue and are UV-stabilised, meaning harsh UV rays will no longer be a deterrent to your family’s bouncing fun.

With Vuly’s Trampoline Tent, your family can jump for longer, more safely and double their bouncing fun!

Please note: Vuly Trampolines recommends removing your Trampoline Tent in heavy rain conditions. If not assembled correctly, water can pool in the roof and may cause damage to the product. The tent is not a weather cover, the design is intended to provide shade and a playful environment for children.
