Trampoline birthday parties

Hi everyone,

With all of the kids’ birthday parties I’ve been to lately, I thought I would write about the best birthday party I’ve ever head.  On my 8th birthday party, my mom bought me a trampoline.  She was acting really secretive, and I knew she got me something really special.  I kept asking when we were going to have a party to celebrate my birthday, but she wouldn’t tell me.  On the evening before my birthday, she surprised me with a new trampoline!  She and my dad installed it, and she then informed me that we were going to have a trampoline birthday party the next day with all of my family and friends.  I was so excited!

The next day, my family and friends came to my house at 2 o’clock.  We had a great time eating cake, blowing out candles, opening presents, and, of course, jumping on my new trampoline. My mom’s thoughtful, fun-filled present to me brought me joy for years to come.  I’ll always remember my trampoline birthday party as the best party I’ve ever had!

What has been your favorite birthday party?  Did you have  theme?  Have you ever had  a surprise birthday party?

Trampoline Owners’ Mistakes

Jumping on a trampoline is a fantastic to involve the whole family in a fun wellness routine, but many times trampoline owners unintentionally put themselves and other jumpers at risk. Most trampoline accidents are very preventable with just a few safety considerations.

First, never jump on a trampoline when the jumping mat is wet.  Jumping mats can be slick when they are wet, and the unstable surface on which the jumper is landing may lead to falls or injuries.  Never allow children to throw water balloons or buckets of water on the jumping mat.

Secondly, if you haven’t purchased a trampoline safety net, you may want to consider buying one to increase the safety of your trampoline.  Safety nets are crucial safety components and prevent the vast majority of would-be injuries.  Safety nets act as arms to keep the jumpers safely in the middle of the trampoline.

Next, carefully clear all debris from the jumping mat before allowing users to access the trampoline. Injuries may occur if the jumper lands on rubbish that has been left on the jumping mat.  By clearing the debris away, you give jumpers a fun, smooth, steady surface on which to land.

Trampoline Supervision

Many parents forget the importance of supervising their kids while they are using the trampoline.  Unfortunately, poorly supervised children are highly at risk for becoming injured.  To properly supervise your children on the trampoline, take the following issues into account:

1) How old are the children?  Trampolines are generally not recommended for children under 6 years old.  It is important to remember that children’s motor skills, reasoning skills, depth perception, and coordination improves as the they get older.  Younger children may not realize how close they are to the  trampoline safety net poles or trampoline edge and may need to be constantly reminded of the physical specifications of the trampoline.  Older children may be more in-tune with their surroundings but may be overconfident in their trampoline abilities.  This can lead to improperly performed tricks and flips and subsequent injury.  Because of their immature reasoning skills, children of all ages must be carefully supervised at all times.

2)  What is the area surrounding the trampoline like?  Sticks, stones, branches, and other debris must be cleared away before jumpers should be allowed to access the trampoline.  Failure to do so can lead to very painful injuries.

3)  In what light will the jumper be in when the trampoline is in use?  It is generally not recommended for jumpers to jump on the trampoline when they will be unable to be seen.  While jumping at night is not necessarily discouraged, it is crucial for jumpers to be able to see the physical surroundings of the trampoline.  If jumpers will be using the trampoline at night, consider installing a large spotlight or space light to increase visibility.

Happy jumping!

Trampoline Shapes

Did you know that trampolines come in a wide variety of sizes and shapes?

Trampolines are suitable for users of all ages and skill levels, and there are several considerations that potential buyers must take into account before purchasing a trampoline for their family.

Experts agree that a circular trampoline is much more suitable for families, children, and inexperienced users.  These devices are widely known to be much safer and reliable than any other shape of trampoline on the market.  Because the weight is evenly distributed around the circle, the jumper has a much greater and more controlled jumping experience.

A rectangular trampoline is generally recommended for professional trampolinists or gymnasts, or for users who are under professional supervision.  Because the shape is more irregular, the bounce is more easily obtained and the user must be very careful in calculating his or her landing.  An uncalculated landing may result in an injured user.

Mini trampolines are most commonly used for fitness purposes, and for good reason–they are easily transportable and fit into any size living area.  Mini trampoline fitness classes are increasingly becoming popular in gyms all over the nation.

Which trampoline is right for me?

There are so many deciding factors when trying to decide which trampoline will best suit you and your family.  To aid yourself in your decision making process, consider the following questions:

1)  What is my trampoline going to be used for?  Some people buy a trampoline solely for the joy it brings while others use it as a critical part of their exercise and wellness routine.  By clearly defining the trampoline’s use, you will make the selection process easier.

2) Who will be using the trampoline?  This is so important when making a decision.  Large or very powerful trampolines may not be suitable for small children or under-confident users.  People who fall under the former categories will be safer and more secure on a smaller trampoline that does not have the ability to give the user a greater bounce height.

3)  From what supplier am I going to buy my trampoline?  Quality and dependability make a world of difference in the safety of your trampoline, so make your selection carefully. Warehouse and discount providers cannot offer the expertise or specialization of trampoline products, and the quality of these products greatly suffers.  Vuly Trampolines is a world-class trampoline institution that engineers superior products for very reasonable rates.  Vuly is a complete trampoline institution that is directly involved in the engineering of all of their trampolines and trampoline accessories.  Vuly’s sponsored international Olympic athletes stand as a testament to the product quality and dependability.

Trampoline Fitness Classes

Trampolines are used for a wide variety of functions, but did you know that many gyms are now implementing these incredible devices in their group classes?

It’s true!  Mini trampolines (also known as rebounders) are surging in popularity as gyms all across the world are creating trampoline fitness classes.  Trampolines are a fantastic way to lose weight in a fun, low impact way.

Trampolines give many of the same toning and cardio effects of medicine balls or treadmills, but without the jarring impact on the joints.  People who want to simultaneously lose weight and tone their muslces needn’t look any further–a mini trampoline is like a weight machine and a cardio machine combined into one device!

Trampoline fitness classes can also offer some added benefits that other devices simply cannot claim.  Jumping on a trampoline increases flexibility, improves balance, fine-tunes coordination, and greatly improves the body’s ability to coordinate two sides of the body.  The unstable rebounding motion of these devices forces the body to become more aware of its surroundings and greatly improves motor skills and kinesthetic awareness.

Furthermore, jumping on a trampoline is just as fun as you remember.  Statistics show that people who enjoy their exercise programs are much more likely to continue their routine and therefore maintain their weight loss.

Trampoline Entertainment

So I decided to have a birthday party at my parents’ place about three weeks ago.  I have been to my friends’ parties and they have been able to get jumping castles (which are so much fun!) for their parties but, I didn’t have enough money for the down payment and hire costs for something of that extravagance.  So, what to do? Simple! I decided to borrow my sister’s trampoline and have a bouncing competition.   What a wonderful day we all had.  Lots of fun in the sun, out in backyard on a trampoline!!

You know, I forgot how much fun a trampoline can be.  We used to have a trampoline when we were and kids and it gives me so much happiness to remember the good times we used to have on our trampoline.

Anyway see ya later x

Trampoline Parties

Mikayla had her sixth birthday party yesterday, and we decided to have a trampoline party.  The kids all had great time jumping on the trampoline, eating pizza and cake, and enjoying the sun.  We were so lucky about the weather..it looked like it was going to rain earlier on the day, but it ended up being the perfect weather for an outdoor party!

Planning a trampoline party was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.  It was surprisingly hassle-free and was much less expensive than renting another venue, which I was really happy about.  We have had the trampoline for two years, so that was no longer an expense to us.  Really, the only money spent was in sending invitations, ordering pizza, getting the drinks, getting the candles, and buying the cake.  We had the space in the backyard for the kids to use and some of the kids’ parents stayed and enjoyed the festivities with us.  We carefully supervised the kids while they were jumping on the trampoline (one at a time, of course!), and I’m happy to report that everyone listened really well.  Both the kids and the trampoline had a great workout!

Have other mums ever had a trampoline birthday party?  What suggestions would you have for other trampoline party planners?
