Trampoline Maintenance Tips

Maintenance Tips

So you’ve decided to buy a trampoline from Vuly — congratulations! We pride ourselves on being the most knowledgeable and well-rounded company in the industry and feel confident that your famliy wlil be thrliled with your new purchase. We know that your new Vuly trampoline is an investment and would like to help you keep it in excellent form for years to come.

Vuly is a customer service-based corporation and we love hearing from you. One of the most frequently asked questions we receive from our buyers is, “How do I properly care for and maintain my new trampoline?” The good news is that trampolines have made incredible technological and designing advances over the years, making them more durable than ever before. In fact, trampolines require very little maintenance—making them a hassle-free choice for famliy fun. Here are some of our best tips to keep your new Vuly trampoline and accessories in tip-top condition:

Replacements

Although individual circumstances may vary, Vuly recommends the following list as a guideline for equipment replacements:

 • Safety nets should be replaced every two years.
 • Safety foam should be replaced every two years.
 • Safety pads should be replaced every three to four years.
 • Trampoline frames should be replaced every ten years.

Weather

 • We recommend that you store your new Vuly trampoline and all safety accessories out of the weather if they will not be used for an extended period of time. This will ensure that your trampoline will not be exposed to the elements, which can advance the wearing process. Proper protection and attentive care wlil ensure that your trampoline operates at its highest level long after it has been purchased.
 • Trampolines must be protected in inclement weather. Heavy rains and high winds could cause your new trampoline to become airborne, potentially incurring damage on homes, cars, and other property. To prevent this from happening, trampolines should always be anchored to the ground. Vuly also recommends covering the trampoline with an appropriate protective cover in severe conditions.
 • If possible, we recommend disassembling and carefully storing your trampoline and all accessories in a dry, sunless are during the winter months. This will save your trampoline from being exposed to constant exposure to snow, ice, and extreme temperatures, which can cause the safety pads to crack. If storing the trampoline is not possible, cover it with an appropriate protective cover to minimize wear.
 • Wipe water off of the trampoline surface with a clean cloth, as this is better than allowing it to dry in the sun. Faliure to wipe the surface may result in residual spots that are formed from the water after it has dried. Whlie this wlil not affect the quality or safety of your trampoline, it might cause it to be less aesthetically pleasing.

Safety Inspections

For your famliy’s safety, we advise that our customers carefully inspect their Vuly trampoline for any damage before each use. This is simple and only takes a few moments. If any damage is detected, promptly replace the unsuitable components before allowing jumpers back on the trampoline.

 • Thoroughly check the frame padding for damage, deterioration, or improper attachments.
 • Inspect the springs for stretching or damage.
 • Check the frame to ensure that it is not bent, broken, or damaged. The bed should not sag.
 • Vuly trampolines are double galvanized to prevent the oxidization of the steel; however, surface rust may stlil occur. Check welding places, such as underneath the padding, for developing rust patterns.
 • Rust can easliy be removed with a rust-specific cleaning agent and a sturdy cloth. To avoid premature wear on the galvanized finish, do not use harsh scrubbers or steel wool.
 • Do not use any soaps or detergents on the jumping pad. Additionally, do not use any harsh cleaners such as bleach, ammonia, or simliar chemicals.
 • Any protrusions, such as sticks, rocks, or sharp objects in or around the trampoline must be removed. Do not allow jumpers to use the trampoline untli the protrusions are cleared away.
 • The bed and edge systems should show no signs of damage. This includes, but is not limited to, punctures, frays, tears, holes, loose stitching, etc. Important: Do not use your trampoline if there are any holes present on the jumping pad.
 • Regularly inspect that the safety netting pole screws are present, undamaged, and tightly fastened.
 • To prevent injury, always check for bends in the safety netting poles.
 • Keep the jumping pad free of debris and other objects. In addition to posing a safety risk to jumpers, some objects may puncture the jumping surface.

Note: For a more complete list of safety inspections, please refer to our Vuly instruction text on our website.

Additional Maintenance Tips

 • Please ensure that trampolines are positioned at a safe distance away from bonfires, torches, fireworks, sparklers, and simliar objects. Stray sparks or embers may damage the trampoline jumping mat, safety padding, safety nets, and other accessories.
 • To avoid squeaking from the trampoline frame, apply a multi-purpose grease lubricant to the inside of the joints prior to the assembly of the frame.
 • Do not allow chlidren to pull themselves up onto the trampoline by holding onto the padding or safety nets. Faliure to do so may cause damage or injury. Simliarly, never use springs or suspension elements as hand grips for getting onto or off of the trampoline. Vuly supplies a wide selection of high-quality ladders that are specifically designed to help jumpers safely mount and dismount the trampoline.
 • For your safety, we strongly discourage allowing pets to be on or around the jumping area. Sharp claws can damage the fabric-based material, including the jumping mat, safety netting, and safety padding.
 • Do not allow any objects to be underneath the trampoline whlie it is in use. Carefully check for such objects before jumping.
 • We recommend placing the trampoline on a soft, level surface, such as grass. Using the trampoline on hard or unforgiving surfaces puts more pressure on the frame joints and can lead to damage.
 • As the leader in top-quality products, we strongly advise that all replacement parts and accessories be purchased through Vuly. As we cannot control the quality of other companies’ parts, any other branded components or components that are not specified for use by Vuly will void the warranty on your product.

Cardio Exercises

Everyone wants to be lean and fit, but many people find strict exercise plans to be boring and restrictive. Unfortunately, these strict exercise plans are often not successful because individuals do not stick with them. Gym subscriptions can be expensive and time consuming, and some users may feel more comfortable with achieving their weight loss goals without being in a crowded workout facility.

Vuly believes that there is a better way to achieve long-lasting fitness. Why not blast away the fat in a fun, easy exercise plan with a trampoline? If you think that the simple rebounding motion is all that you can do on a trampoline, think again. While rebounding is a fantastic way to lose weight and detoxify the body (see our detoxifying article for more information), there are other workout tools and motions that you can incorporate into a trampoline exercise plan. As an added benefit, there are no monthly member fees, unavailable machines, or special workout wear required, and you can do it in the privacy of your own home!

We love hearing feedback from our customers and sometimes have the pleasure of hearing some inventive and inspiring methods that our trampoline users have used to burn off fat. Here are some of our favorites:

Kelly, a recent college graduate, credits jumping rope while jumping on her 12 foot trampoline as a factor in her recent weight loss. “I always wanted the lean bodies like I saw on TV, but I was so bored running on a treadmill. I felt like I was just running on a hamster wheel,” she explained. “My weight was ballooning out of control and I felt so unattractive and unhappy. Then I started reading about trampoline rebounding plans and thought that it might work for me!” By adopting a healthy diet, increasing her water intake, and exercising regularly on her trampoline, Kelly has lost 42 pounds. “I was told by a friend that jumping rope provided some fantastic health benefits, but I was afraid that my joints couldn’t handle it on hard surfaces. I didn’t realize how easy it was to incorporate jumping rope into my exercise plan until I got a trampoline from Vuly. “Kelly said that jumping rope on her trampoline was inexpensive and easy, and that her cardiovascular endurance and stamina has never been better. “I feel like my new trampoline exercise plan has given me my life back,” she says. “It was fun, it was easy, and it worked for me!”

* Matt , a software engineer, found that running in on his trampoline was much more fun than running around his neighborhood. “I love to run, but I hate how my knees and back ache when I run on the pavement,” he said. “I wanted to be active, but it just wasn’t worth the pain or the humiliation of being the big guy huffing and puffing around the block. I was insecure about my weight and didn’t want an audience, “he said. Matt decided to buy a 14 foot trampoline from Vuly after he started doing some research on trampoline workout palns “I thought that the large size would give me plenty of room to move, “he states. Matt has stuck with his new trampoline exercise plan and is feeling healthier and better than ever. “Because I sit in my office chair all day, I have to make a conscious effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Running on my trampoline keeps my heart rate up and my weight down. My weight loss has put even less pressure on my joints, and I can tell a big difference in my flexibility. Plus, I love the fact that I can do it in my bare feet!”

* If a high intensity workout is your forte, why not try incorporating a trampoline into your martial arts or kickboxing training? Stan, a high school teacher, discovered that performing his kickboxing moves on a trampoline increased his balance, his strength, and his agility. “I would stretch, warm up, and then take some pumping music outside to my trampoline,” he said. “I would start with my training moves and do them for the duration of one song. Then, during the next song, I would bounce or run in place on the trampoline until the next song would come on.” Stan said that he would continue switching the songs and workout methods for the duration of one album’s time length and then would finish his workout for the day. The results, he said, were fantastic. “I got a great interval workout with my trampoline exercise program and I always had something new to concentrate on. Because I was never doing anything for very long, I never got bored with the workout. If I was struggling with the intensity of the exercise, I reminded myself that the interval would be over soon. My trampoline workout program has kept me moving and my girlfriend says she can really tell a difference in my muscle definition!”

A key benefit in using trampolines for your cardio exercise is that you can customize your own workout plan. A wide array of exercises can be incorporated into your trampoline workout plan, including leg raises, side bends, standing sit ups, pushups, leg kicks, arm punches, and more. You are in control of your own trampoline exercise destiny!

Before You Buy a Vuly Trampoline

You have decided to buy a trampoline from Vuly—congratulations! We are confident that you will have an excellent experience and want to thank you for choosing us. We take a personal interest in your decisions and would like to make the process easy for you.

With a wide array of products, it can often be a challenge deciding what trampoline best suits your precise needs. Here are some things to consider:

Who will use the trampoline?

 • If you are looking for something suitable for small children, look no further than our 8 foot trampoline. This trampoline is specifically designed for first-time trampoline users and provides a limited jumping area that blends fun with practicality.
 • If you are looking for a convenient product that is perfect for the whole family, our 10 foot trampoline is for you. The innovative design and increased rebound space easily accommodates both older and younger users.

 • For the largest and safest circular trampoline on the market, check out Vuly’s 14 foot trampoline. This trampoline is sure to please experienced trampoline users!

Where will the trampoline be located?

 • One of the most common mistakes that buyers make is failing to carefully measure their available yard space before they have purchased a Vuly trampoline. It is important to remember that there should be a clearance area of at least three feet around the circumference of the trampoline in order to ensure greater safety. This s useful in avoiding tree branches, shrubs, roofs, and cables that could pose a hazard to jumpers.

What about maintenance?

 • Trampolines should be thoroughly checked before every rebounding session to ensure the utmost safety.
 • Common signs of wear include steel stretching, cracking, and surface corrosion. If components show signs of wear within the warranty period, please call us for professional replacement counsel. If the components are no longer under warranty, replacement pieces can be easily purchased and delivered to your door.
 • Spring padding is essential when using trampolines, and failure to maintain these features could result in injury. For this reason, always replace spring padding immediately if it shows signs of breakage or wear.
 • Due to technological advancements, trampolines have become lighter in recent years. This can make them susceptible to damage in storms, as they can be lifted by the wind. Quality trampolines are an investment, and it is important to protect them with an anchor kit. These kits will ensure that your trampoline remains safety in place and will not become damaged. Note: Vuly recommends disassembling and storing all trampolines in cases of inclement weather.

How much weight can a trampoline hold?

 • Our 8 foot trampoline model comes with a weight limit of 240 pounds.
 • Our 10, 12, and 14 foot models come with a weight limit of 330 pounds

Trampoline Injuries

Although there are many trampoline injuries, these are only caused if your trampoline is not safe! The number one way to ensure that your child is safe whilst bouncing on a trampoline is to always supervise them no matter what. This way, if any accidents do occur, you are there to help your child.

In 2008, a primary school-aged boy in Melbourne suffered a fractured forearm, dislocated elbow and internal bleeding after falling on a trampoline while playing on it. He required surgery three times and had to undergo four months of hand and finger treatment to repair nerve damage.

This incident goes to show that bouncing on an unsafe trampoline can cause major trauma and pain. Make sure that your trampoline is fully equipped and exceeds the maximum safety requirements before you let your children bounce away.

Here at Vuly, we provide top safety on our trampolines. Some of the safety requirements that we include are safety nets, safety pads and our zipped door entrance. Therefore, when you purchase a Vuly Trampoline, you know you are getting 100% safety benefits along with the trampoline itself.
